Discounts

ACA Members receive a 20% discount off the book list price. To receive this discount, you must be logged into the ACA web site when placing your order.

Bulk orders by any purchaser will be discounted according to the chart below:

Payment

Individual orders placed through our online store can be paid with Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and PayPal.

Wholesalers and retailers may request purchase orders with prior approval through our institutional order form linked above. Invoices must be paid within 30 days. Unpaid invoices after this date will result in your account being held for nonpayment and no further orders being fulfilled until the account is brought current.

Credit card payments are also accepted. Credit card payments must be completed and cleared within 10 business days. Payments not received and cleared will result in the order being returned to inventory.

Shipping and Handling

Standard orders within the contiguous United States will be shipped via UPS ground to physical addresses only (no PO Boxes) according to current UPS rates. Orders placed in Hawaii, Alaska, and US territories will be shipped via UPS 2nd Day Air.

Actual shipping costs will be calculated and added to the order total. No additional handling or processing fees will be charged. Institutions may utilize their UPS Collect number for shipping.

Returns

Individuals

Individuals may return unused and salable books within 30 days of purchase. Return postage is the responsibility of the purchaser. Refunds will be processed upon receipt of return and verification of condition and will be for the purchase price only. Clearance priced titles are non-returnable.

If an order is lost, damaged, incomplete, or incorrect, please email orders@counseling.org. Damage or loss that occurs during shipping is not the responsibility of ACA and a claim must be filed with the shipper. Authorized replacements will be shipped at no cost to the purchaser.

Wholesalers and Retailers 

Wholesalers and retailers may return unused and salable books within 180 days of the invoice date. Invoices must be paid in full before a return authorization is approved. Clearance priced titles are non-returnable. Permission to return is required and must be requested by completing the Return Permission Form (https://www.counseling.org/publications/rma).

To complete this form, you will need to prepare and upload a list (Excel, Word, or PDF only) of the titles you wish to return. For each title include the following: 

  • ACA Product Number 
  • Full Title 
  • Quantity to be Returned 
  • Reason for Return (Overstock, Class Canceled, Wrong Item Shipped, Arrived Too Late, Exchange or Replacement).

Omitting any of this information may result in denial of your request to return or delay processing of your request. Upon review of the request, ACA will provide a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). A packing slip or invoice must accompany all returned orders and reference the RMA. All shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.

Wholesalers and retailers will receive credit, less a 25% restocking fee, to be applied to future orders. Credit must be used within 6 months of issuance. No refunds will be granted. 

International Orders (Individual and Business Customers) 

International orders must be submitted by emailing orders@counseling.org. Actual shipping costs will be calculated and added to the order total. All international orders must be prepaid before shipment. If full payment is not received within 15 business days, the order will be canceled and items returned to inventory. 

Examination Copies

Faculty and other instructors wishing to examine an ACA text prior to course adoption may request an electronic examination copy through our partner Wiley Publishing. To do so, please go to the eBook listing for the title and click the “Request Digital Evaluation Copy” link.

Desk Copies

ACA will provide one complimentary copy to faculty and other instructors who have adopted an ACA text for their course. The faculty member or other instructor must not have previously received a complimentary copy of the text, the course must have at least 10 students enrolled, and the text must be verified as available for student purchase through the institution’s bookstore.

To request a desk copy, please complete the Desk Copy Request Form (https://www.counseling.org/publications/desk-copies). Please allow up to one week for the request to be evaluated and the book shipped.
