BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
The Thelma T. Daley Advocacy & Equity award was created to recognize our member advocates who have made a real difference by advocating on behalf of Black and Brown communities. Awardees have shown they serve as a catalyst for advocacy and equity in Black and Brown communities. Clinicians and community activists are encouraged to apply.

ELIGIBILITY, RULES AND CRITERIA 

To be eligible for this award those nominated must demonstrate a history and record of the following:

  • Nominees have a documented history of being catalyst for change in leading the way for advocacy in the area of justice and social equity for Black and Brown communities and people
  • Nominees have a record of shining a light on injustice and oppression occurring in Black and Brown communities

Member eligibility requirements:

  • ACA Member in good standing
  • Nominated by an ACA member in good standing
  • ACA members can self-nominate

NOMINATION GUIDELINES

The nominator must submit a letter of nomination that details how the nominated individual meets the criteria for the award as well as embodies the ideals of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion of Black and Brown communities. The letter should not exceed two pages.

The nominator must also submit three profile testimonies from clinicians, mangers, supervisors, and community leaders that highlight the nominees record of being a catalyst for leading the way as an advocate for Black and Brown communities in the areas of justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, and oppression. Profile testimonies should not exceed two pages (per testimony).
