Friends with arms around each other

Welcome to 2025!

This will be an exciting year for counseling as we explore what lies ahead for the profession, ways that we can foster deeper connections among our members and expand our reach, and how we can develop and disseminate the highest quality educational and professional development content and experiences.

We continue to strive for operational excellence across all areas of our internal operations. With this in mind, we’re making a few important updates in 2025 that will improve the ways we serve our members and streamline internal functions and processes to help us gain efficiency in achieving our mission: advancing mental health and well-being through advocacy, community, inclusion and research.

  • Upgraded Community Networking — ACA Connect, our members-only community platform — will receive a refresh this year. The community interface will be easier to navigate and more engaging. Look out for new ways to get involved and contribute to conversations about counseling with your colleagues.
  • Division Dashboards — ACA's 20 chartered divisions provide leadership, resources and information unique to specialized areas and/or principles of counseling. Some of our divisions rely on ACA for managed services and assistance with critical business functions. Work is underway on a dashboard for divisions that will help streamline the delivery and management of these services.
  • Upgraded Job Board — Qualified counselors are in demand, and we’re working to connect members with new and exciting career opportunities. This year, we will launch an upgraded job board to help you plan your next move, along with new career content to help you land the job you want.
  • More Ways to Engage in Advocacy — We're upgrading our advocacy engagement platform to make it easier for you to track local and national legislation, reach out to your elected leaders and amplify your voice on behalf of counseling.
  • A Focus on Ethics — The Ethics Committee is hard at work on the next ACA Code of Ethics. We’re also bringing a new ethics platform online for a more streamlined approach to consultations and complaint processing.
  • Smart, Thought-Provoking Content — From educational webinars and continuing education to the informative, interesting storytelling in Counseling Today, we’re looking for more ways to spotlight and collaborate with the icons of the profession, today’s trailblazing practitioners and educators, and the emerging students and young professionals of tomorrow.
