Counselors supporting service members, veterans, and their families’ unique needs and challenges

Individuals in the military, veterans, and their families confront distinctive challenges linked to their service, such as deployments, frequent relocations, and a highly structured lifestyle. After their military service, veterans may grapple with the challenge of discovering their purpose, while family members bear the strain of the aftermath of military life.  Counselors play a pivotal role in helping military-related individuals to manage their mental health and overall well-being. They can emphasize a perspective centered on wellness rather than illness to counter any perceptions of weakness.
