President Biden recently signed an Executive Order which focuses on regulating Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Executive Order establishes new standards for AI safety and security, protects Americans’ privacy, advances equity and civil rights, advocates for consumers and workers and promotes innovation and competition.
“One thing is clear: To realize the promise of AI and avoid the risk, we need to govern this technology,” said Biden during a White House address ahead of the signing, calling the order the “most significant action any government anywhere in the world has ever taken on AI safety, security, and trust."
The actions that the White House administered are critical steps forward in the U.S.’s approach on safe, secure and trustworthy AI. This effort marks the U.S. government’s most ambitious attempt to address concerns that AI will displace workers, compromise data privacy and undermine national security.
