ACA Responds to Senate Finance Request for Information

Dec 3, 2021

The American Counseling Association (ACA) submitted a response to the Senate Finance Committee’s request for policy proposals to improve access to mental health and substance use disorder services. The response was addressed to Senator Ron Wyden, Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and Senator Mike Crapo, ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee. We emphasized the importance of the Mental Health Access Improvement Act (S.828/H.R. 432) and the critical need to extend telebehavioral health services beyond the COVID-19 public health emergency.

The American Counseling Association applauds the Senate Finance Committee’s bipartisan commitment to addressing the urgent behavioral health care needs of all Americans, including seniors and people with disabilities, through an evidence-based approach.
