Dear Colleagues:
ACA Nominations and Elections Chair Lynn Linde and I would like you to know that Dr. Bradley T. Erford has been elected to serve as the Association's 61st President. Dr. Erford has served as a volunteer leader at the branch, region, division, and national levels. Currently, Brad serves on the ACA Governing Council as the representative from the Association for Assessment in Counseling and Education and is the ACA Bylaws Chair. Brad has been dedicated to the profession and our organization for a number of years.
In addition to Brad, this year's candidates included Christine Moll, Michael D'Andrea, and Jeffrey Freiden. ACA leaders and members appreciate those who were willing to run for office this year. The commitment of these fine individuals to run demonstrates their desire to improve the profession. Fielding such a strong group reminds us that ACA is able to attract superior individuals who wish to serve.
There were more than 2,800 votes cast and 98% of those who commented said that they liked the new online voting platform. This election saw the highest number of voters in four years.
Brad will begin his term as President-Elect on July 1, 2011 and he will assume the role of ACA President on July 1, 2012 for a one-year term.
Brad is currently a professor at Loyola University in Maryland. If you would like to contact him, his e-mail is: berford@loyola.edu. Please join us in wishing him well as he begins this important journey in ACA leadership!
Regards,
Richard Yep, CAE
Executive Director
