Check out the new ACA-ACES Syllabus Clearinghouse!

Jan 15, 2009

The new ACA-ACES Syllabus Clearinghouse is a joint project of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES). This unique resource was developed to help counselor educators discover creative approaches to course development, while also saving time and enriching the profession.

Still in its embryonic stage, the clearinghouse already provides access to over 200 counseling syllabi from more than 80 faculty members across the country. It is searchable by author’s name, college or university, title and key words. Both member and non-member counselor educators are continually invited to contribute their syllabi.  Accessing the syllabi is a member’s only benefit and is a valuable resource for both counselor educators and their students.

Contributing a syllabus will bring professional recognition for the counselor’s work, exposure for the counselor education program for his university and most of all, peer appreciation. Every counselor educator who contributes to the ACA-ACES Syllabus Clearinghouse through January 2009 will be recognized and publicized as a Charter Contributor on the ACA website.

The clearinghouse welcomes education departmental contributions from all colleges and universities. The scope of this unique collection is to be the go-to repository for counselor education syllabi. It will also serve as an information tool for universities, faculty and students.
