Black men mental health

Prioritizing Black Men’s Mental Health

Black men in contemporary society face a myriad of traumas stemming from systemic racism, economic disparities, educational inequities, and cultural stigmatization. These elements contribute to a complex psychological landscape that often negatively impacts mental health.

Addressing the collective and individual trauma impacting Black male mental health requires an approach to counseling that incorporates strengths inherent in Black culture and communities. This three-part webinar series will provide culturally competent evidence-based strategies for promoting the mental health of Black men.

This webinar series consists of three parts — part one takes place via live webinar on Jan. 17, while part two takes place on Feb. 14. Both parts will be recorded and available in the ACA Learning Portal. Part three will be held live and in-person on Thursday, March 27, at the ACA Annual Conference & Expo in Orlando, Florida.
