ACA Urges Congressional Leaders to Address the Mental Health Impact of COVID-19

Jun 11, 2020

The Mental Health Liaison Group, of which ACA is a member, has submitted a letter to both the Energy and Commerce and the Ways and Means committees urging them to address the mental health and addictions impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition they are also requesting H.R. 945, the Mental Health Access Improvement Act, to be included in the next COVID-19 relief package.

Mental health and addiction issues have been exacerbated by this public health crisis and require proactive legislative solutions. H.R. 945 would allow Medicare beneficiaries access to mental health services and for licensed professional mental health counselors to bill Medicare for those services.
