FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Psychology at the College of Staten Island (CSI) invites applications for the position of lecturer beginning Fall 2014. A lecturer’s primary responsibility is teaching undergraduate psychology courses. The position also requires that the candidate participate in the governance of the college by serving on various committees.
The Psychology Department at the College of Staten Island embodies the College's commitment to educational excellence through scholarship, service, and teaching. We provide our students with a comprehensive understanding of the scientific study of behavior and experience through our broad curriculum. We foster critical thinking through a variety of research and internship opportunities. Our active participation in Masters Programs in Mental Health Counseling and Neuroscience at the College and PhD programs at the CUNY Graduate Center provides our students with continued access to excellence.
Ph.D. or Psy.D. degrees in Psychology or a closely related field is required at time of appointment. A successful candidate for instructor will demonstrate the ability to teach a variety of classes including introduction to psychology, research methods, psychological statistics, history and systems of psychology, and classes within their expertise.
