Ethics & Professional Standards

Ethical dilemmas, revisions and professional standards are all around us these days… from our political leaders in Washington D.C. to our own profession of counseling. Assistance with these issues is at hand. An ACA member receives as a benefit FREE confidential ethical/professional standards consultation five days a week between 8:30 and 4:30 EST. Most inquiries are answered within 24 hours (it may take up to three business days during very busy times, or when inquiries require specific research). A major revision of the ACA Code of Ethics was completed in October of 2005 and contains significant changes that will impact professional counselors across all settings and specialties.
